Connect your Shopify store

Install the SendDuo app from the Shopify App Store to bring in your customers and orders, show forms on your store and send abandoned checkout emails.

Updated October 23, 2026

SendDuo has its own app for Shopify. Once it is installed, SendDuo brings in your customers, orders and products, shows your sign-up forms on your store, and can email shoppers who leave a checkout. You use SendDuo right inside your Shopify admin.

Install the app

  1. Find SendDuo in the Shopify App Store and install it on your store.
  2. Approve the permissions Shopify shows. SendDuo reads your customers, orders and products, and adds new sign-ups to your customers.
  3. SendDuo opens in your Shopify admin. You can always find it again under Apps, then SendDuo.

Your SendDuo account

If you are new to SendDuo, the app creates an account for you with your store's owner email address. We send that address an email called Verify your SendDuo email.

  1. Open the email and click Verify my email. This also signs you in.
  2. Go back to SendDuo in your Shopify admin. Your store now shows as Connected.
Tip: No email? Check your spam folder, then click Resend the email in the app. The link in the email works for 24 hours.

Your new account has no password yet. To sign in to SendDuo outside Shopify, click Forgot your password? on the login page and set one.

Already have a SendDuo account?

You can connect the shop to the account you already use. If your store's owner email already has a SendDuo account, this is the only option the app offers.

  1. In the app, click Connect my SendDuo account (or Connect this shop to it). A new tab opens.
  2. Log in to SendDuo in that tab.
  3. Click Connect shop.
  4. Go back to the Shopify admin and reload SendDuo to finish.
Tip: The connect link works for 10 minutes. If it has expired, go back to Shopify and click it again. Each SendDuo account connects one store.

What SendDuo brings in

Right after you connect, SendDuo imports your customers, orders and products. The app shows Importing your customers, orders and products while it works. You can close it meanwhile. After that, new customers and orders come in on their own.

Only customers who accept email marketing in Shopify become subscribers in SendDuo. Everyone else is kept as a customer who does not get your campaigns. If someone unsubscribes in Shopify, SendDuo unsubscribes them too.

Old orders and customers from the import never start an automation.

SendDuo inside your Shopify admin

SendDuo's pages open inside your Shopify admin. Its sections (Dashboard, Campaigns, Automations, Contacts, Forms and the rest) appear in the Shopify admin menu under SendDuo.

Show your forms on your store

Popups need the SendDuo app embed switched on in your theme. Shopify does not let apps do this for you, so it takes one click.

  1. In SendDuo, open Forms.
  2. In the Your Shopify store box, click Turn on forms in your theme. Your theme editor opens.
  3. Check that SendDuo forms is on under App embeds, then click Save.

Once SendDuo sees the forms load on your store, the box shows Installed. Until then it shows Not on your theme yet.

To place an inline form on a page:

  1. Open the form in SendDuo and click Copy form code.
  2. In your Shopify theme editor, add the SendDuo form block where the form should appear.
  3. Paste the code into the block's Form code field and save.

The SendDuo forms app embed must be on for inline forms too. A form shows only once it is On. See Create a popup or sign-up form.

Everyone who signs up through a SendDuo form is added to your Shopify Customers, subscribed to email marketing.

Tip: Shoppers who are logged in to their account on your store get their email filled in for them. If they already accept email marketing, they don't see your popups.

Abandoned checkouts

When a subscriber starts a checkout and doesn't finish, SendDuo can email them. The button in the email takes them back to their checkout. To use it, open Automations, then Abandoned cart, and click Turn on.

Careful: Shopify can send its own reminder too. If you use SendDuo's, turn Shopify's off in your Shopify admin (Marketing, then Automations, then Abandoned checkout) so customers don't get two.

Billing through Shopify

When you install SendDuo from Shopify, you pay through Shopify. Charges appear on your Shopify invoice, and you approve each one in Shopify.

  1. To change your plan, open Billing in SendDuo (or click Change plan in the app).
  2. Choose your plan and approve the charge in Shopify.

Invoices and payment details are in your Shopify admin. If you click Switch to Free, Shopify stops charging, and your plan stays until the end of the period you paid for.

If you link an account that already pays SendDuo by card, that payment stays as it is.

Uninstalling

To disconnect your store, uninstall SendDuo in your Shopify admin. Your contacts and campaigns are kept. To reconnect later, install SendDuo again from the Shopify App Store.

Tip: Had the SendDuo website snippet on your store before? Once the app is connected, it shows your forms instead, and the snippet is removed. You can delete the old embed.js line from your theme.
