Create a popup or sign-up form
Make a popup or an inline sign-up form in your brand colors, choose when it shows, and turn it on to grow your list.

SendDuo has two kinds of sign-up forms. A popup appears over your pages. An inline form sits inside a page, like in your footer or on a contact page. Both use your brand colors and add new subscribers to your contacts.
First, your forms need somewhere to show. Connect your shop or add your website: Shopify, WooCommerce or any other website.
Create a form
- In SendDuo, open Forms.
- Click New popup or New inline form.
- The form opens with its settings and a preview.
New forms start Off, so you can set them up first. You can have up to 10 forms.
Settings
- Name: for you. Visitors never see it.
- Heading, Text and Button: what the form says.
- Message after signing up: shown once someone signs up.
- Ask for a first name too: adds a first name field.
- Ask for a birthday: adds an optional month and day field, for the Birthday automation. Visitors can leave it empty. On WooCommerce it needs the SendDuo plugin 1.0.8 or later.
- Discount code shown after signing up (optional): a code to thank new subscribers. Create this code in your store first. SendDuo cannot create coupons.
- Double opt-in: new subscribers confirm by email first: they get an email and must click to confirm. With double opt-in, the discount code shows once the address is confirmed.
Every form ends with a short line saying the visitor agrees to receive your emails and can unsubscribe anytime. The preview follows your changes as you type. Click Save to put them on your shop.
When a popup shows
Popups have a few more settings. Under Show the popup, pick one:
- After a few seconds: set Seconds before it shows (0 to 120).
- After scrolling down the page: set Scrolled this far down (%) (10 to 90).
- When the visitor is about to leave: on computers, when the mouse leaves the page. On phones it shows after the delay instead.
Show again to the same visitor after (days) sets how long to wait before showing the popup to the same visitor again (1 to 365 days). Untick Show on phones to show it on bigger screens only.
Turn it on
- On the form's page, click Turn on. The form shows On.
- For an inline form, place it on your page. The Put it on your shop (or Put it on your website) box shows what to copy and where it goes.
A popup needs nothing more: it shows on every page once it is On. On WooCommerce, popups don't show on the cart and checkout pages.
To stop a form, click Turn off. Delete form removes it from your shop. The people who signed up stay in your contacts.
Welcome emails for new subscribers
New subscribers from your forms get your Welcome emails, if that automation is on. If it is off, the Forms page tells you and shows a Turn it on link. You can also open Automations, then Welcome.
Shopify shoppers
On a Shopify store, shoppers who are logged in to their account get their email filled in for them. If they already accept email marketing, they don't see your popups.
Why don't I see my popup?
Each browser sees a popup once, then not again until the days in Show again to the same visitor after (days) have passed. Once you sign up through a form, or open your shop from a link in a SendDuo email, that browser no longer sees popups at all.
Still nothing? Check that:
- the form shows On,
- a few minutes have passed since you saved or turned it on,
- on a phone, Show on phones is ticked.
